‘Anatomy’ Star Checks into ‘1408′

King adaptation drafts another

Kate Walsh stars as Dr. Addison Shepherd on ABC’s hit drama “Grey’s Anatomy” and she has just signed a deal to star opposite John Cusack in Dimension Films’ adaptation of the Stephen King novella 1408.

The story follows Mike Enslin (Cusack), a debunker of paranormal activity, as he checks into room 1408 at the Dolphin Hotel and has a close encounter with real terror. Sam Jackson also stars in the pic as the hotel manager and Walsh will play Enslin’s ex-wife and mother of his young daughter.

Mikael Hafstrom is directing the feature from Matt Greenberg’s script. The film begins lensing this summer in the U.K. and is currently eyeing a May 2007 release.
