The Always Customizeable Studio Logo

Does the logo alteration appeal to you?

Jeff Wells had a little post that seemed to inspire folks to begin chatting about the ever changing studio logo that pops up before each film letting us in on what company spent the big bucks to bring us each feature. Many started chiming in in the comments section as to which logos they preferred and caught their attention throughout the years.

Outside of the 20th Century Fox logo making us remember the first time we saw Star Wars and always will (at least it does me) I did a quick search around YouTube to find what I thought were some of the cooler customized logos that came before several films.

Whatcha think of my choices and are there any you would add? I would have also added The Matrix had it been embeddable.

Constantine
Warner Bros. and Vertigo

300
Warner Bros. and Legendary

Van Helsing
Universal

Doom
Universal

Live Free or Die Hard
20th Century Fox

Sunshine
Fox Searchlight

Day After Tomorrow
20th Century Fox

Jack Frost
Warner Bros.

Dreamcatcher
Warner Bros., Castle Rock andVillage Roadshow Pictures

I don’t know if this counts, but I always liked the "30 Century Fox" logo at the end of Futurama episodes.

I really like it when studios customize their logos. I just think it adds something to the film. And it’s really neat to see how they try to play with it. Because, let’s face it, some of those studio logos (ie Warner Bros) are really boring, but they can wind up doing something neat with it (like Warner usually does).

Great stuff, but most of it from recent years.
The Matrix trilogy also have good openers, very dynamic and mysterious with all the little pictograms and symbols (no doubt all having special meanings).
Way back when… the opener of Kevin Costner’s Waterworld also had the land masses/ continents of the Universal Studios Earth being flooded as the camera zooms in on the ocean.
Also, if I remember correctly, didn’t the Burton Batman movies have special WB logos?
With everything digital these days, it’s much easier to redo the logos…
