Alba and Christensen are ‘Awake’

Duo set for psychological thriller.

Variety brings us news that absolute hottie, Jessica Alba, is teaming with that guy that can’t act (*note* Alba ain’t too good either), better known as Hayden Christensen, in Awake for the Weinstein Co. and GreenStreet Films.

The film was written and will be directed by newcomer Joby Harold and focuses on a man (Christensen) who suffers “anesthetic awareness” and finds himself awake and aware, but paralyzed, during surgery. His young wife (Alba) must wrestle with her own demons as a drama unfolds around them.

For an idea of what to expect, producer Joana Vicente told Variety, “This film will do to surgery what ‘Jaws’ did to swimming in the ocean.” Now, that is quite a claim! I certainly hope Christensen’s character is a whiny little bitch because that seems to be all he can do on screen, it worked in Shattered Glass, but didn’t come off as well in the Star Wars prequels.

The film is expected to begin lensing in New York this October.

with respect to your comment about hayden acting ability i take it you didn’t watch star wars or life as a house or you would know how powerful he is as an actor.I also understand that you havent spoken to george lucas about why he picked him then.
