The game adaptations continue to try

Adam Beach is probably best known as Ira Hayes, the disillusioned Native American soldier from Clint Eastwood's Flags of Our Fathers, but he tells MTV that video game geeks may come to know him in a different light as he says he will star in a feature adaptation of the popular video game series "Turok":

"We just finished the animated movie and now we're going into the feature film movie [which should lens] hopefully in a couple years. We're about to set up meetings to develop a script and put it out there," Beach enthused. "I'll have to beef up, and be a good guy, and save the world!"

Turok centers on Joseph Turok, a former Black Ops commando. The game first arrived back in 1997 for the Nintendo 64 titled "Turok: Dinosaur Hunter". It has since evolved into a new franchise taking place on a dark, mysterious planet in the near future in which Turok is part of an elite Special Forces squad on a mission to take down a war criminal on a genetically-altered planet. After the ship is shot down while approaching the planet, he must use his instincts and elite military training to elude an army of well-trained soldiers, and the ravenous, unpredictable creatures that populate the dangerous environment. Joseph Turok's mission? Survive at all costs.

The latest installment hit next-gen gaming systems this past February to modest reviews.
