Adam Sandler Recruits Ricci for Porn and Bello for Kevin James
Yeah, Maria Bello and Kevin James tying the knot makes sense
I am thinking Christina Ricci got the better deal here as a pair of Adam Sandler related features were announced over the past two days. While Ricci is starring in a porn-tinged comedy produced by Sandler she is playing the innocent one while Maria Bello got the short end of the stick and will play the wife of Kevin James in a new Sandler ensemble comedy.
Both stories arrive via The Hollywood Reporter, the first has Ricci starring in Born to Be a Star with Nick Swardson. The film is described by THR as a porn-tinged comedy centering on a small-town nerd who stumbles upon a family secret: His quiet and demure parents were famous porn stars in the 1970s. This motivates him to leave Northern Iowa for Hollywood, hoping to follow in their footsteps and fulfill his destiny as the biggest adult-film star in the world. Ricci, the female lead, is the guy's innocent girlfriend.
Sandler co-wrote the script with someone else that went unnamed and the picture will be directed by Tom Brady who last directed the box-office bust The Comebacks and The Animal starring Rob Schneider in 2002. Principal photography starts at the end of April.
The comedy Bello has joined is currently untitled with Sandler's I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry helmer Dennis Dugan directing. Bello joins a large cast which includes Sandler, Kevin James, Chris Rock, Rob Schneider, David Spade, Salma Hayek and Maya Rudolph. The script, by Fred Wolf and Sandler, revolves around high school friends who reunite 30 years later.
That film could begin production as early as May.
