'A Nightmare on Elm Street' Remake Trailer and Screen Captures

One, two Freddy's coming for you...

The teaser trailer for next year's A Nightmare on Elm Street has made its debut and if I remember correctly it is a lot like the footage I saw at Comic Con last year and discussed here. It shows the introduction to the "creation" of the sadistic Freddy Krueger as played by Jackie Earle Haley and shows the numerous homages to the original feature.

You can give the trailer a watch directly below and then I took 15 screen captures, such as the one above, from the trailer and added them to the gallery right here. The best look at Krueger I could get is this image here.

A Nightmare On Elm Street hits theaters on April 30, for more click here

You can watch the trailer in high-definition here.

WOW!! another pointless remake. Seriously does this look even a little scary?
One of the worst trailers of the year, i mean 'Don't Fall asleep' is the tagline? do they even use their brains any more?

Michael bay will be the death of cinema.

I like it… at least it looks quite grim and atmospheric, and Haley looks like he's gonna totally steal the show. I'll see it.

"Pointless" is the perfect word for this.

OK. This looks really freaking good. I loved the original the first time I saw it, but this remake really does look good. Plus I'm a huge fan of Katie Cassidy… I'll see anything with her in it.

that scene in the beginning with the pre burn Freddy is kind of reminiscent of Haleys character in Little Children, don't you think?

Jackie Earle Haley: promising

Everything else? Ehhhh……….

Remakes of Wes Craven masterpieces:
"Hills Have Eyes" (2006)–great
"The Last House on the Left" (2009)–fucking crap
"Nightmare on Elm Street" (2010)–????????

Actually, I still need to watch the original. That's going to happen within the next week or two, methinks.

Doesn't look scary at all but good luck finding anything that does any more. The only movie that shows promise recently is paranormal activity. And before it came out the only really scary horror movies i've seen are the blair witch project and the exorcist. So rarely do scary movies actually deliver. But i adore the horror genre regardless and will see this in april. Won't scare but it looks like it will entertain. Who doesn't like the original. And though doubtful this looks like it might improve it. Perfect casting with jackie earle haley.

Man I loved the casting of Freddy, but am I the only one that thinks they made him look and talk like a somebody that had a stroke??? I hope they can do something about the make up, or CGI, cause that is what his face looked like in the trailer. I was hoping it was going to be more raw, not shiny and smooth, like the above poster said, he looks like that guy from Harry Potter.

Interesting trailer…after reading descriptions of the trailer from comic con i was dying to see it. i was absolutely amazed at the sets they're definitely an improvement from the original which now look dated(but good for the 80s). didnt like haley as human freddy but absolutely loved the last scene. plus this is just a taste of whats to come. im glad they finally decided to release the trailer. why wait people are already buzzing about this and since comic con have been dying to see this.

I seen the trailer, the fact that there seems like there will be a minimum amount of blood or none at all as the trailer showed none at all is the most disturbing, some of the scenes shown should be flooded with blood. not happy with the star chosen for freddy, i only heard of him from watchmen, even now Robert Englund could still play freddy well, he is freddy. i love the freddy films but wont see this one till on dvd, if i even watch it. and mike bay involved, he's not a horror producer or director so him being part of it has already done damage.

i think it looks pretty good….but if you really look at him in the freddy makeup, he kinda looks like a burnt man from who-ville!!! he even talks kinda like one….little strange.
