I'd love to see Dracula's Lament performed at the Oscars. Other than that Another Way To Die is fantastic.

The idea that Clint Eastwood could very well do a little singing at the Oscars is tantalizing. He co-wrote "Gran Torino", and it sounds like a winner. I'm sure the producers will try to get Clint up there somehow. It would be one of the biggest Oscar highlights of all time.

I think "Down To Earth" is definitely an Oscar nominee.

I hope and pray Beyonce is selected for the nomination and hence win. This will mark her 2nd Oscar nomination in original song. She so deserves to be recognized for something she is great in and that is music. Heck…she has performed 3 Oscar nominated songs at the Oscars some years ago. So I believe the Acamedy see her potential.

I HATED "Another Way to Die." Truly wretched. I might die of happiness if "Dracula's Lament" got a nomination, since that would probably be the only love for one of my favorite movies Oscar would be willing to show.

I think "Down to Earth" is the frontrunner, and I liked "I Thought I'd Lost You" a lot more than I thought I would since I hate Miley Cyrus.

Hey Brad: I'd personally dig it if Springsteen won again — especially since the mental midgets voting for Grammy Awards gave him a pass for Album of the Year and Song of the Year when "The Rising" (both album and song) were up for those kudos (Norah Jones's album and song were good, but not great, as were Springsteen's entries that year); and to add insult to injury, they overlooked "Magic" for an album award (even though the first song didn't fit well with the rest, with politically subversive — and well-written — songs like the title track and "Your Own Worst Enemy," "You'll be Comin' Down" and "Devil's Arcade," it was a no-brainer for Album of the year — unfortunately, the voting members of the Grammy's are, well, lacking both brains and heart).

As for "The Wrestler," after listening to it a few times, although I like the simplicity of the lyrics and music, I think that it wont win because it lacks an obvious hook (maybe Springsteen is going for easily written songs after all the former hard work was ignored). Since _everyone_ who belongs to the Academy can vote — technicians as well as composers — I'm betting the lack of a melodic hook will result in his not winning this time (even though his other Oscar nomination and win, "Streets of Philadelphia," was low key, it had the chorus for a hook).

That's my long-winded story and explanation and I'm sticking to it.

I would love if "Lament" was nominated. I think the more good things Jason Segel gets, the better (I'm assuming he wrote the song). I loved that movie, and that scene was amazing because it was hilarious, but also a little bit heartbreaking.

I also really like "Little Person" and "The Wrestler".

I really love the song 'Sweet Ballad' from Yes Man.

It's humourous as well as being really well constructed.

One really good one on that list is "Zydrate Anatomy." I have yet to see "Repo! The Genetic Opera", though I will come January 2nd when it plays in a theater just 30 minutes away from my house, but I have the soundtrack, and "Zydrate Anatomy" is a really good song. I'm glad to see that it's at least being considered, even if its chances of a nomination are next to none.

@Josh: I would also be extremely happy if Little Person got a nomination.

DAVID: Thanks for saving other viewers/posters on this site the trouble of pointing out the obvious to Oscar. Sometimes I wonder if there really are that many marching morons haunting the byways and highways of cyberspace…then I read comments like the one you addressed and I'm no longer in doubt.

I DO have to admit: after watching the Sarah Marshall movie a couple of times and enjoying the hell out of the goofy Dracula play, I'm hoping "Dracula's Lament" at least gets nominated for an Oscar…cause I'd LOVE to see it performed (just as in the movie) on the stage come Oscar Awards night.
