11 New Posters from 'Star Trek' and 'Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince'

New looks at international and character posters...

Yesterday saw the unveiling of 11 new posters from two of this summer's upcoming blockbuster features; Star Trek and Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.

From Star Trek we get five international posters and from Harry Potter we get six character posters debuted by MSN featuring Harry Potter, Albus Dumbledore, Hermione Granger, Ron Weasley, Draco Malfoy and Severus Snape.

You can check out all the posters directly below and look for Star Trek on May 8 and Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince on July 17.

I'm practically giddy over the new Star Trek posters. All I can say is, it's about freakin' time for a reboot of Trek. Nemesis was a major disappointment and the tv series Enterprise was barely watchable. Thank you Mr. Abrams, you've made this Trekkie very happy.

As for the new Potter posters, meh. While I love the series (both books and films), I think they should have stayed with the more traditional, hand-drawn poster that was issued with the Sorcerer's Stone. I wish more films would go back to the basics when it comes to poster design. Even the posters for the original six Trek films (The Wrath of Khan in particular) were more inspiring then the current ones (though, their pretty spectacular).

Anyone else a fan of the ol' hand drawn posters? My personal favorite is the original Star Wars poster; however, Apocalypse Now is pretty great too.
