An Animated War: Batman vs. Star Wars
Why is one direct-to-DVD while the other goes theatrical?
I am curious what the deal here is with Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Batman: Gotham Night. Both are animated features that link to their respective film counterparts. Clone Wars is said to link Episode II and Episode III in the Star Wars saga and Gotham Night is six animated short films that link Batman Begins and The Dark Knight. Not only does the Gotham Nights trailer look like it is going to be a far better feature (better produced, animated, etc.) I am starting to think it may have longer legs than an actual animated Star Wars film considering all the anticipation for The Dark Knight.
Gotham Night hits DVD shelves ten days before The Dark Knight on July 8, while Clone Wars hits theaters this Fall, on August 15. The preview says it is Star Wars as we have never seen it before, but wasn't about 75% of the prequel films animated? And excuse me for being blunt, but the animation on this thing looks horrible, and why the hell can't someone teach Yoda how to freaking speak? On top of that, it's like he is trying to imitate Shatner.

I am really glad you brought this up because its true! i dont really understand it either i know Gotham Knight will make a lot of money on dvd and blu-ray for that matter (since it will be cheaper than most blu-rays) but im not sure why star wars is not going straight to dvd!? I Do know this though July is the month of the Batman because the Adam west movie comes out on blu-ray than does Batman Begins and than Gotham Knight and than The Dark Knight comes and i love it!
