And Now the Trailer for 'Legend of the Guardians'
Barn owls take flight...
Well, I guess Warner Bros. wins today by getting me to post two articles in a row for one of their films as Yahoo has now debuted the trailer for Zack Snyder's Legend of the Guardians, the animated film based on the series of children's books by Kathryn Lasky. The film is set in the Forest of Tyto, where Barn Owls live in peace until their kingdom is threatened by an evil that could destroy their home.
I have included the trailer directly below, and also taken 20 screen captures and added them to the gallery right here.
Legend of the Guardians hits theaters on September 24.
You can watch the trailer in high definition at Yahoo.

Nope…doesen't work for me…somehow, i can imagine owls in a "Happy Feet" type of a feature…but not in this grandiose, legend kind of a scenario….something seems to be missing here…
Alerady saw this trailer on youtube and it looks like a good movie.I love Zack Snyder style and it looks it is going to be cool movie.
Looks pretty impressive, visually at least. I didn't even know Zack Snyder was involved with this until a couple days ago. Whatever you think about his films story-wise, you can't say the man doesn't have an impressive vision. Hopefully this one will come with a good story.
Looks like it could be good, but do we really wanna see owls fighting in slow-mo….
Looks decent, horrible choice of music for the trailer. Not too excited about it though.
I personally love the animation here, could live without Jared Leto singing though. I'm looking forward to it.
Awful, just awful. Owls now?
Would you have preferred boats?
Boats could actually work.
FINALLY, a kids' movie in which we'll be wowed by slo-mo shots instead of fast-motion ADHD-inspired inanities. I'm excited for this. The trailer isn't put together that well, but the images are great, and the story seems like it could be really good. And I trust Zack Snyder to make a good film.
ok i got a great idea for another movie, get this: There is a colony of worms under this suburban middle class family's back porch. The child in the home goes under the porch and the worms talk to him. they tell him about a EPIC battle with the mean worms, "nightcrawlers", under the neighbors porch. The worms wear leather roman style armor and have magic wands and swords. there is a love intrest between a teenage worm boy and a teenage worm girl from the "nightcrawlers", so this adds tension and a inter-racial spin also. the girl worm is worried about the boy because he is going off to battle with her colony and she just wants peace between them. There will be slow-mo fights and harry potter type magic!! Only the human boy can stop the conflict between the worms. The trailer will have cheesey rock music or even beter maybe the jonas brothers do a song with kanye west and thats playing!!! This will be released in 3-D and at the end of the trailer it will say "the dirt will fly" before the release date.
lol this is stupid, talking dogs, cats, penguins, owls…why? now they are fighting?! Lets combine cute owls and the movie 300 but make it a kids film… and some of you are excited to see this. sad. watch some film maker read this and make the worm movie lol
I'm with you Travis, I didn't see anything I'd watch if you paid me…..well, maybe, depends on how much. LOL
looks cool.
Yeah…this just didn't do it for me.
I don't think 18+ is the target market guys- which is why none of us will pay to see it..
Now tell me you don't think every 6-12yr old won't drag their families to see it..
That trailer is something else…it looks more like a music video than a movie trailer. Either way, it looks like it's directed at kids, otherwise an owl movie wouldn't really work.
Zack Synder=instantly watchable. Totally ready to at at least see this on DVD. It probably will bomb though because it's not cartoony CGI and isn't anthromorphic or whatever. Owls fighting really isn't marketable eithe, but hopefully I will be proven wrong there.
Come on people this animation looks freaking amazing! would look stunning in 3-d. Owls or no owls you still cant stay if the story is good or not.
Reminds me of the 1st 'The land before time' for some reason but with owls
So…Dawn Of The Dead (2004), 300, Watchmen…Owls? Talk about coming out of left field. Looks like Lord Of The Rings with birds.
Not really my cup of tea; however, neither was Happy Feet and I enjoyed that.
If it looks like nothing else, it looks beautiful. I think this will work. Plus I got to hear a lil 30 Seconds to Mars which is always cool! Trailer was kind of all over the place though.
im afraid that because this is an adult kids film,
it will fail like last years "9"
I certainly wouldn't have called '9' an kid's film, more of an anyone's film. Personally, I liked the movie, it was different. Which this owl film is too, I'll give it credit for that.
Maybe there will be extreme violence, like Watchmen.
That was suppossed to be a super hero movie. Who ever heard of an extreme ultra-violence super movie until Watchmen.
So maybe Zack Snyder will put in some disturbing scenes of owls tearing each other to shreds.
I'm sure this film will be cool whatever happens.
looks kinda cool, but who is the voice cast? they all sound australian!
