Add $7 Million to the 'Star Trek' Tally from Thursday Screenings
Just how much will the weekend deliver?
Variety reports Star Trek earned an estimated $7 million following Thursday night screenings of the sci-fi reboot, and all eyes now turn to Friday numbers.
Looking over at Steve Mason's thoughts he believes if the film can manage $22 million today it should end up around $70 million for the weekend, but should it muster $25 million we may be looking at something in the $80 million range.
Star Trek is opening on 3,800 screens, including IMAX, and currently holds a 96% rating at Rotten Tomatoes. No matter what this weekend's numbers end up being I expect this one to do well for a while thanks to strong word-of-mouth.
On top of all this I have added 23 more images to the gallery for the film which is now up to 93 images, if you would like to check those out click here.

Didn't Iron Man have the same kind of Thursday openning of about seven million or so and do about 100 million over it's weekned. Any chance Trek could do those kinds of numbers? Still 70 to 80 mill is pretty good.
Why are so many movies this summer being released on a Thursday? Not the traditional midnight screenings, but like 7 p.m. screenings? I don't get it
this movie was amazing, and I hope it does reach the $100 million mark.
I also agree with Eric, i enjoy the thrill of the midnight premiere, not the 7p.m. screening
94.5 for Star Trek
