Adams Tapped for Female 'Underdog' Lead
Toon adaptation shaping up
Amy Adams was nominated for an Oscar for her role in Junebug and now she is ready for a little fun as she has been cast opposite the voice of Jason Lee in Disney and Spyglass' Underdog.
There weren't any specifics on the role other than to say she would be playing the female lead. Peter Dinklage is already cast as the film's villain with Frederik Du Chau set to direct.
The film is a live-action version of the once-popular animated kids show following an underachieving pooch named Shoeshine Boy who would become Underdog and attempt to save the world from villains. In the movie the villain will be Simon Barsinister (Dinklage), an evil scientist who once created a Big Dipper Machine in an effort to steal the world's water supply.
Underdog will be brought to life via the use of a CGI-enhanced live dog and the voice of Jason Lee.
