Abrams Talks a Bit About 'Star Trek 11'
Kirk is in it and script is done
I am starting to get the feeling that the upcoming 11th film in the Star Trek franchise is going to turn into mania just like the Star Wars prequels as any bit of news seems to be turning online heads. Granted, not to the exact level as the Star Wars movies, but this little nugget is hardly newsworthy, but I am excited about the new film so what the hell.
Word out of TrekMovie.com brings news that director J.J. Abrams told "Star Trek Magazine" that, "James T Kirk appears in the movie." This is very small news, but something Trek fans have been waiting for as it is the first official announcement from someone involved in the project that the story will indeed include Kirk.
The other news tells us that the script is done and pre-production is underway as Abrams is quoted saying, "The respect we all have for Star Trek canon – and for a brand-new audience – is massive. The script is done. We’re now starting pre-prep, and we can’t wait to start shooting!"
Apparently more details will surface soon in the magazine.
