A Veiled Keira Knightley in New 'Anna Karenina' Pictures

A trailer has to be coming soon... right?

As far as I'm concerned there are always multiple reasons to be excited for a new Joe Wright feature. Of course, both times he's teamed with Keira Knightley for a period piece he's knocked it out of the park -- Pride and Prejudice and Atonement. Then there are the tracking shots, such as the opening to Pride and Prejudice, introducing us to the Bennet family, and then the long beach sequence in Atonement.

But there's also the cinematography to consider, which always seems to be beautiful no matter who Wright works with. With his upcoming film Anna Karenina, it just so happens to be Seamus McGarvey for a third time following the work the two put in on Atonement and The Soloist (not to forget a pair of shorts in the late '90s).

Then, the score, Wright's collaborations with Dario Marinelli on Pride and Prejudice, Atonement and even the lackluster The Soloist were excellent and I can't wait to see what kind of magic all these talented artists bring to Leo Tolstoy's classic.

Set in late-19th-century Russia high-society, Anna Karenina explores the capacity for love that surges through the human heart, from the passion between adulterers to the bond between a mother and her children. As Anna (Knightley) questions her happiness, change comes to her family, friends, and community.

Today three new images have arrived courtesy of Kinopoisk (via The Playlist) and while the two below can't match the one above this is what we'll have to settle for until Focus finally delivers the first trailer, which has got to be just around the corner considering it will hit UK theaters on September 7 and US theaters on November 9.

Don't forget the production design by Sarah Greenwood and the costumes by Jacqueline Durran! Hopefully we'll get a trailer soon, I anticipate this way more than Gatsby or Les Miserables.

Yeah IA, the worst actress to ever exist on earth ever. Sorry bro, but in time, she will be considered among the best of her generation. Get used to it.
